On January 20, 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order 14159, directing the Department of Homeland Security to enforce existing requirements under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), which mandates that most non-citizens aged 14 and older who remain in the U.S. for over 30 days must register and be fingerprinted. Parents or guardians are responsible for registering children under 14, and individuals must re-register upon turning 14. Once fingerprinted, registrants over 18 are legally required to carry proof of registration at all times. Noncompliance may result in civil or criminal penalties, including fines or imprisonment. To support compliance, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) introduced Form G-325R and an online process to help individuals fulfill their obligations. It’s important to note that registration does not confer immigration status or provide any rights such as work authorization. For more information visit: www.uscis.gov/alienregistration
